Big day Saturday
Saturday was a big day. I rod the LRRH (little red riding hood). there were varying mileage routes, i signed up for the 47-honestly i heard it was 45, 47 and my mom's little clock thingy said we rode 50 miles. regardless, it was fun. the seat on the bike i used-one of my brothers mountain bikes-felt like cement. 20 miles in, my butt was hurtin! i kept waiting for it to go numb but that didn't happen, just more and more pain. drats! after the ride was over, i ate some food and rested, i realized i could go another 50 miles (provided i could get another seat!). too bad i realized this so late! i had a great time. i have been so worried about this ride and it was so much fun! we did it in 4 hrs 5 min. i wish we would have been faster but for my first organized cycle ride (2nd on the road all year) i had a great time! next time i will go farther and have a MUCH better seat! :) see the skirts-my mom got them for us and they made me feel all girly while i was being tough-what fun combo. thanks mom! the lady coming up beind me in the pic, is the reason i rode. she has been fighting colon cancer and in the past month or two finished here treatments. i have known her all my life and i was privilaged to ride with her-behind her really, she was so fast!
this we saw at the bottom of sardine canyon. we were at a stop light and saw this stuffed creature taped to the side of the bed of a truck. haha
the other reason saturday was big was because we went to the Airshow after my ride. Rob and Caleb came up the cheer me in at the finish line (barely made it! traffic) and then we went to Hill Airforce base to watch the Thunderbirds fly. it was a good time. Caleb did really well traveling considering he was in the car for a good portion of the day. Rob did an excellent job packing for the day all by himself. he usually has me around to overthink everything. it took him much longer than he had thought it would to get everything ready--now he knows from experience :)
my sister-in-law gave us these earplugs for caleb when the Thunderbirds flew. we don't know how much of a difference they made but we'd like to believe they helped. caleb was interested in the planes until the first buzzing of the crowd; this scared him and the rest of the show he was clinging to us and the loud passes he would cry. poor kid. Me and Rob loved it. the airshow is a hakes family event. we usually go to the one in las vegas for veterans day. it was nice that this one was so close!
overall saturday was a good day! i was totally tired by the end but when i woke up sunday, i wasn't sore. i was so glad i could do so much and enjoy it all. those are the days we remember.

Great job! Great time, too. I wish I could have said that I was ready to ride another 50 miles after the ride, but . . . nope. No way. It was fun, though!
You are crazy. In the coolest way possible.
Way to go, girl!
